VERY AWESOME WORLD HOLIDAY TUMBLR GIVEAWAY!!!
In the spirit of holiday giving and sharing with everyone who has supported me this year I’m going to be giving away a special holiday prize package. Included in the package: One signed copy of An Awesome Book + one signed copy of An Awesome Book of Thanks! + two posters + a limited edition tote bag,  and I’m even going to throw in a one-of-a-kind personal drawing (you could use it as a xmas card, perhaps?).
All you have to do to enter is reblog this post and say something nice about someone you care about. At the end of the week I’ll pick the winner at random and hopefully lots of nice things will have been said about lots of nice people all over the world.
Thanks! - Dallas

Writing this blog felt super lame, but when I read Dallas’s post I felt like it was a great idea (no prize necessary) to just say something nice. I don’t usually blog (as you can see from the practically blank page)…I really only have this tumblr to check out other blogs, but today I’ll talk a little bit about my best friend whom I could not live without and these words can really do no justice. Before I start, I wanted to thank Dallas for always reminding us about the simplest things that are most important. For pointing out the obvious that seems less and less obvious with age and hectic lives.
OK…so I’ll tell you a little bit about my best friend. We hate titles…seems so lame to say “my best friend” “BFF” “Bestie” (whatever you want to call it), but truth be told, that’s what she is. She’s the best friend I’ve got, however you want to say it. We’re both girls and yet when it comes to feelings, we’re the furthest from how you would assume girls would be. We don’t hug….after seeing each other from a long absence, we look at each other, nod and say “hey”. To the common observer, we act like a couple of guys who are afraid to show our emotions. Essentially we always look like we could care less which is furthest from the truth.
We talk on a daily basis….telling each other every detail of our day. We love to people watch and talk about tv shows like we personally know the characters. We love to tease and make fun of people…we love to make fun of ourselves. We talk about how lame it is that we’d rather hang out with each other than go out for a night on the town with a big group of friends. The thing is….we’re better when we’re together. We work well together and laugh hard in the process of getting things done. We compliment each other.
We have a wide variety of conversations. The other day we decided to have a sound conversation which turned out to be hilarious! Yes, we called each other up and just made weird sounds as though it were some top secret language because we were bummed out and doing the most absurd thing was what made us laugh hysterically that day. It only lasted about 1 min because our laughter got the best of us. It requires creativity to come up with a sound that really means nothing. I suggest you try it. haha…Well, we go from that (which we would normally never tell another soul about) to conversations about music and life and love and film and books and traveling and dreams and everything in between. We can read each other without a word being said.
We are so much alike and yet so very different. It’s so uncomfortable saying this out loud (figuratively speaking) but we really do love each other (in the least homoerotic sort of way. lol). So, with that…I just thank whoever or whatever brought us together because I’m so lucky to have this amazing friend by my side. I say “lame” a lot, but really we’re blessed to have the sort of friendship that we do. Outrageously funny and downright fantastic even living hundreds of miles apart.
with love,
Jesenia
